Antique JG WERNER LANCASTER Percussion Smoothbore Musket YORK, PENNSYLVANIA
.60 Caliber Full-Stock Fowler
Here we present an antique J.G. Werner Full-Stock Percussion Smoothbore Musket, made circa the early 1850s in Lancaster & York, Pennsylvania. Werner of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania was a maker of percussion full-stocked long rifles in the 1850s to 1860s. This is a smoothbore musket in .60 caliber. The barrel and stock were cut back at some point. There is an old coin embedded in the stock, and despite being highly polished appears to be French and “NAPOLEON” can be made out.
The overall condition is good. The action is strong. The bore is smooth and dim. The stock is solid.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 30-3/4 inches.
