1920-30s Prussian Police Sidearm w/ Holster
Here we present a World War I Double Dated “1918” & “1920” Luger Pistol, originally made in 1918 at the German Royal Arsenal at Erfurt, Germany. This one was made near the end of the Great War as a military sidearm as denoted by the “1918” date. Once the war was over, this one was returned to the government and the date of “1920” was then stamped large over the original date on the chamber. It underwent a rework at the armory to install the sear block safety. It has a unit marking on the front of the grip frame: “S. Wpr. II.121” for the Prussian Police West District 2nd Division, gun no. 121.
The overall condition is very good. Original finish. The action is excellent. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The grips show use as does the rest of the gun. Clear proofs and acceptance markings. The numbers match throughout, including the grips and the magazine base. It is import marked on the underside of the barrel.
