PRUSSIAN Crowned Eagle ETCHED Blade Military Officer’s Sword
With BRAIDED WIRE Wrapped Grip
Here we present a Prussian Etched Blade Military Officer’s Sword, made circa the late-19th Century, likely in Solingen. Finely etched with panoply and eagle motif amidst the scroll work on one side and a panoply German eagle with crown crest and another panoply on the other side. Solid cast hilt with nice detail. Folding langet. Initials engraved on the pommel.
The overall condition is very good. Mostly straight blade with a slight bend in the last 5 inches. Original wire wrap intact. The leather scabbard is absent the last 7 inches at the tip but is in otherwise good condition.
Overall length: 35-1/2 inches.
Blade length: 30 inches.
