GOLDRING FLINTLOCK Martial Pistol Engraved Antique .65 Caliber Birmingham
Full Size Flintlock in a Martial Caliber!
Here we present an antique Goldring Flintlock Pistol, made circa the early19th Century in England. Goldring is documented from 1797 to 1817 in Kingston Upon Thames in London. This pistol has an intimidating .65 caliber bore and would have been most at home tucked into a gentleman’s belt when not punching large holes. This also would have been the type of pistol an officer would have purchased on his own to bring to battle in case he was to come into contact with the enemy. It was of course, made primarily for self-defense, and very well would tell stories if it could. Much happened in Britain, in its colonies and abroad during this period. Its .65 Caliber bore would have been very intimidating if by chance you were on the receiving end.
The overall condition is very good. The action is strong. The bore is in good shape. Apart from the expected dents an dings, the stock is solid and in fine shape. “GOLDRING” is engraved on the lock. A fighting pistol from the time of the War of 1812 and Napoleonic Wars from a seldom seen maker!
