ETCHED BLADE Antique CIVIL WAR Era U.S. M1860 Staff & Field OFFICER’S Sword
PATRIOTIC THEMED Blade with SCABBARD
Here we present an antique U.S. Model of 1860 Staff & Field Officer’s Sword. The model 1860 was produced from the period of the American Civil War through the time of the Spanish-American War. The overall length is 37 inches and the nicely etched blade measures 31-1/2 inches along with a gilt brass hilt, wire wrapped sharkskin grip, and a leather scabbard.
There are photographs of a U.S. soldier taken during the Spanish American War with one of these in hand. The blade is very nicely etched with an array of U.S. themed symbology and scrollwork. The handle is the original sharkskin, bound in braided wire.
The overall condition is good. The blade is bright and remains nicely etched. Solid hilt. The twisted brass wire is tight around the grip. Legible markings. Overall the scabbard is in good shape but the seam has been glued.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Overall condition as seen in photos.
