ETCHED BLADE Antique CIVIL WAR Era U.S. M1850 Staff & Field OFFICER’S Sword
PATRIOTIC THEMED Blade with SCABBARD
Here we present an antique U.S. Model of 1850 Staff & Field Officer’s Sword. The Model 1850 was produced from the period of the American Civil War through the time of the Spanish-American War. The overall length is 36 inches and the nicely etched blade measures 30-1/2 inches along with a gilt brass hilt, wire wrapped sharkskin grip, and a leather scabbard.
The blade is very nicely etched with an array of U.S. themed symbology and scrollwork. The handle is the original sharkskin, bound in braided wire.
The overall condition is very good. Straight blade with a wave in the last five inches near the tip. Clear etchings. The hilt is solid, there is some solder on the pommel at the end of the tang. The ray skin and wire wrap is intact. The leather scabbard is crackled but otherwise in good condition.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Overall condition as seen in photos.
