ENGRAVED British PAIR of I. SPENCER Antique Belt FLINTLOCK Pistols
Early-1800s Self Defense Flintlock Pistols
Here we present a pair of antique I. Spencer Flintlock Self Defense Belt/Pocket Pistols, made circa the early 1800s in London, England. These flintlock self-defense pistols would have been most at home in the belt or pocket of anyone in the busy cities of London during the early-1800s.
These pistols feature large .60 caliber “Manstopping” bores that would have been quite the deterrent against ne’er do wells and ruffians roaming the city streets in tumultuous Europe in the early to mid-1800s. Men would carry this style of pistol concealed in a waistcoat pocket or tucked securely into his belt.
The overall condition is good. Each of the cocks has been replaced. Actions are functional. Bores are smooth and dim. Stocks show use and have small splits and dings but overall solid.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrels are 7 inches.
