Product Description
ENGRAVED Antique American Saw Handle .45 Percussion TARGET/DUELING Pistol
Mid-1800s Self-Defense Carry Pistol
Here we present an antique engraved Saw Handle Percussion Target/Dueling Pistol, made circa the 1850s likely in the United States. This pistol features a slender frame with an ergonomic “saw handle” grip, which places the axis of the bore low in the hand and greatly improves shooting accuracy and stability. The .45 caliber octagonal barrel is 6 inches in length and has quite the heavy barrel.
This pistol is likely American, possibly made by Blunt and Syms in New York City. It has a simple floral engraved cast iron frame, trigger guard, and hammer. The saw handle is a two piece grip with a flared butt. It has complete swivel ramrod.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces show a smooth brown patina. The bore is in good shape. Strong action. Both grips have average handling wear but remain in good shape. Lightly engraved frame. “CAST STEEL” is marked atop the barrel. Possibly a replaced hammer.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 6 inches.
Caliber: .45 Percussion
Overall condition as seen in photos.
