FIVE-SHOT Revolver in “NAVY” Caliber
Here we present an antique Colt Model 1862 Pocket Navy Revolver, made in 1863 in Hartford, Connecticut. These were made as a step between the Model 1849 Pocket in .31 caliber and the full-sized Model 1851 Navy in .36. This revolver holds 5 shots of .36 caliber ball.
The overall condition is fair. Weathered patina. The rammer lever has been repaired. The wedge and several screws are replacements. The action is strong. The bore is dim and virtually smooth of rifling. Grip is shy to the frame and remains solid. Numbers match on the barrel, frame, trigger guard and grip frame.
