Antique BRACE of Belt Pistols Octagonal Barrels .46 Caliber Matched Pair
Twin Sidearms from 19th Century Europe
Here we present an antique Brace of Percussion Belt Pistols, made circa the 1840s in Europe. These sidearms are of handy size for holsters or just tucking behind a belt. As firearms were primarily single-shot at this time, bringing more guns to the fight was the main way to increase firepower. A matched set such as this would have kept ammunition and the battery of arms the same.
Each of these has an octagonal, swamped barrel in .46 caliber. Each has a small silver oval over the grip. No provision to hold a ramrod as these would have been loaded before going out.
The overall condition is very good. The barrels show their original twist pattern. The actions are excellent. The bores are smooth and patinated. The stocks each have a stable split on the left stock flat; otherwise solid.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrels are 4-3/8 inches.
Caliber: .46 Percussion
Overall condition as seen in photos.
