Product Description
18th Century ITALIAN Flintlock Pistol by GIRONIMO
Maker Marked with Engraved Lock
Here we present an antique Italian Flintlock Belt Pistol by Gironimo, made circa 1700 in Brescia. This was made to be a full-sized pistol to be worn on a belt for personal protection and perhaps even battle in the early 18th Century. Smooth bored for .51 caliber. This pistol is equipped with a belt hook on the left side. The lock, hammer, pommel, and trigger guard are engraved. The stock is carved in relief around the metal hardware. There is a decorative thumb plate at the top of the wrist. There is a thin rib on top of the barrel which would aid in aiming. The left flat of the barrel is marked by the maker, “GIRONIMO”.
The overall condition is very good. The metal surfaces have a gray patina. The markings are clear. The stock has been repaired just above the pommel and above the ramrod tube. The bore is caked with years of dust. The action is excellent, strong and crisp.
