18th Century FRENCH Antique FLINTLOCK Pistol
1700s France, Maker Marked & Signed!
Here we present an antique French Flintlock Holster Pistol, made circa the 1750s. This pistol is stamped with “AB” in a square, which was the maker’s mark. The name “ALFONSO BONDEE” is also marked in fine punch-dots along the length of the barrel. The bore is .54 caliber. The stock has beautiful grain and is carved to accentuate the hardware. Gradually sloping grip with a brass pommel cap gives it a graceful appearance. Brass furniture throughout. The barrel begins octagonal and transitions to round.
This comes from the collection of Judge David Dickason Creekmore of Knoxville, Tennessee.
The overall condition is very good. The bore is smooth and dark. The action is excellent. Here is a beautiful French pistol that would have been fit for a gentleman and an officer.
