U.S. REVOLVER CO. .32 CF C&R 1920 Defense Pocket Revolver ROARING TWENTIES
Nickeled CONCEAL & CARRY Revolver by IVER JOHNSON
Here Ancestry Guns presents a C&R U.S. Revolver Company Double Action .32 Centerfire Revolver, made circa 1920 by Iver Johnson in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Iver Johnson was a U.S. firearms, bicycle, and motorcycle manufacturer from 1871 to 1993. The company shared the same name as its founder, Norwegian-born Iver Johnson (1841–1895). Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871.
The revolver was a small, sturdy, well-built self-defense weapon, ideal for potent conceal and carry in the early years of the tumultuous 20th century continuing into the years leading up to the Roaring Twenties. This double action only revolver was designed after the very popular Smith & Wesson revolvers of the late 19th Century. With 5 shots and modest size, it would have been handy for concealed carry protection in the wild Roaring Twenties!
The overall condition is fine. Original nickel finish is preserved. Strong action. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. Numbers match. Markings are legible and clear. Both grips are good and each side has a chip repair.
