WWII THIRD REICH German Mauser 98k BERLIN-LUBECKER “S/237/1937” Code Rifle
Early WORLD WAR II German Rifle
Here we present a C&R Third Reich German Mauser Model 98K Berlin-Lubecker “S/237/1937” Code Rifle manufactured in 1937. Berlin-Lübecker Maschinenfabrik (BLM) was a manufacturer of handguns, infantry rifles, flare guns and precision military equipment in Germany from 1936 to 1945. The company, based in Lübeck, Germany, was one of a number of metal-related businesses owned by Bernhard Berghaus, a German industrialist and member of the party who played an important role in the rearmament of Germany during this time.
Here is a Model 98k that surely has some stories to tell. Manufactured before the start of World War II, this Mauser 98k bears the “A/237” code over the “1937” date on the receiver ring. Has the early thin butt plate. Initials have been carved into the bottom of the stock “VKV”.
The overall condition is very good. Refinished. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The barrel and receiver have matching original numbers. The bolt body and the trigger guard have been electropenciled to match the original numbers. The rest of the gun has mixed numbers. The stock is solid and still bears the acceptance marks.
