WW II NAZI German Mauser BORSIGWALDE “s/243” Code 1937 Dated Model 98 Rifle
SCARCE German Third Reich Infantry Rifle!
Here we present a WW2 German Mauser Borsigwalde s/243 Code Model 98 Rifle manufactured in 1937. Mauser Borsigwalde was the Second Mauser Plant and was located in a suburb of Berlin. This is a hard to find make & code and an early date.
Manufactured relatively early during the pre-World War II period of German re-armament, this Mauser 98 bears the “S/243” code over the “1937” date on the receiver ring, along with German Military inspection marks. The barrel is fitted with the standard blade and tangent sights, and matching numbers are present on multiple components. Fitted with a smooth pistol grip stock with a flat steel butt plate.
The overall condition is very good. The action is strong. The bore is bright and sharp. The numbers match (9034g; front sight, rear sight assembly, barrel, receiver, magazine assembly, bolt assembly, screw heads) with the exception of the front barrel band (340). This example sports a solid stock all around. The top of the barrel is dated “1937”. The leather sling is included. Here is an interesting piece of German history to collect and display!
