WORLD WAR II German HEER Marked BERLIN-LUEBECKER “duv/40” Code K98 Rifle
SCARCE Third Reich MAUSER Rifle with BAYONET!
Here we present a WW2 German Berlin-Luebecker Maschinenfabrik “duv” Code “40” Date K98 Mauser Rifle manufactured in 1940 in Berlin. Berlin-Luebecker Maschinenfabrik was a fairly early producer of the k98. It started making k98s in 1936 under the code “s/237”, moved to “237”, and late in 1940 changed to “duv”. BLM made k98s through late 1942 and was then fazed over into making the new semi-automatic K43 and G43.
This is a very hard rifle to come by with the “duv” code, as it was transitioned/changed at the end of the 1940 production year. This one has an Eagle/H marking on the right side of the butt stock indicating acceptance by the Heer or German Army.
The overall condition is very good. Very nice original blue finish. The action is excellent. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. This example sports a solid (rather than laminated) stock with various inspection and acceptance stamps/WaffenAmts on the right side and underside of the butt stock. The numbers on the barrel, receiver, bolt assembly, magazine assembly match. The stock, barrel bands, and flat (early style) butt plate are another set of numbers but match each other. This set includes an original bayonet, scabbard, leather frog, and leather sling. A wonderful set!
