Here we present a C&R Soviet Russia Mosin-Nagant Model 1891/30 Rifle, made circa 1944 at the Izhevsk Arsenal with a production run between 1891 and 1973 and most certainly saw action in World War II. This was no doubt the most prolific version of the Mosin–Nagant. It was produced for standard issue to all Soviet infantry from 1930 to 1945. Most Dragoon rifles were also converted to the M1891/30 standard.
This rifle is a 1930 variant of the original Model 1891. The Soviet Model 1891 known in the West as the Mosin–Nagant and in Russia as Mosin’s rifle is a five-shot, bolt action, internal magazine fed military rifle developed from 1882 to 1891 and used by the armed forces of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and various other nations.
It is one of the most mass-produced military bolt-action rifles in history with over 37 million units having been made since its inception in 1891, and, in spite of its age, it has been used in various conflicts around the world up to the present day. This specimen is dated “1942” and marked with numerous inspection marks. It is chambered in the 7.62x54R cartridge, with a magazine capacity of 5.
The overall condition is very good. Armory refinished. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The stock is smooth and solid. Parts electro penciled to match the number on the receiver. Import marked on the left side of the barrel.
