William WALLS of STRATFORD-upon-AVON British FLINTLOCK .45 Pistol Antique
c1790s English Pocket Sidearm!
Here we present an antique engraved Boxlock Flintlock Pistol by William Walls of Stratford on Avon, made circa the 1790s in Warwickshire, England. Warwickshire is famous for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare at Stratford-upon-Avon. This little self-defense pistol would have been most at home in the pocket of anyone in the busy cities of London, Paris and Liege during the very early 1800s.
The action is not functional at present (mainspring) and the top jaw is absent from the cock. Other than that, this pistol has good bones with an attractive grip and smooth bore in good shape. This would be great on display or a good one to bring back to working order!
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrels is 2-3/8 inches
Caliber: .45 Flintlock
Overall condition as seen in photos.
