WILD WEST Antique REMINGTON .44 Colt CONVERSION New Model 1863 ARMY
Made Circa 1863-75 and Converted in the 1870s!
Here we present an antique Remington New Model 1863 Army Cartridge Conversion Revolver, likely made shortly after the close of the American Civil War. The New Model Army was manufactured from 1863 to 1875 with a total production of approximately 150,000 and represented the last of Remington’s .44 caliber percussion revolvers. This revolver was likely converted sometime after the Civil War ended with the expiration of the Rollin-White Patent in 1869.
The overall condition is good. Refinished. The action is strong but the cylinder timing is slow and does not make it to the next bolt stop. The bore is in good condition with strong rifling. Absent front sight. The grips are solid.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 8 inches.
