WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co. Antique Swivel Breech Percussion PISTOL ENGRAVED
RARE Double Barrel with SCREW OFF BARRELS!
Here we present an antique Westley Richards & Co. Swivel Breech Double Barrel Percussion Pistol made circa the 1830s-50s in Birmingham, England. Westley Richards & Co. still make world class firearms to this day, over 200 years later. William Westley Richards established his prestigious company in 1812, only yet 22 years of age, at 82 High Street in Birmingham. He established his high end London shop in 1815 at 170 New Bond Street. William’s son, Westley Richards, joined his father in business at the age of 26 and continued to prosper the business with his own ideas and patents. It was he who was responsible for the design of the infamous Monkey Tail Carbine in 1858.
The overall condition is near fine. The action is as strong as ever. The barrels swivel smoothly. Nice bores. The checkered grip is sharp, offering a good purchase. The left frame has “WESLEY RICHARDS” engraved, with the right reading “LONDON”. Here is a rare specimen of British firearms history that would be very hard to improve upon.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrels are 2 inches.
Caliber: .45 Percussion
Overall condition as seen in photos.
