W.M. BILL LARGE Made .45 Caliber UNDERHAMMER Heavy Barrel PERCUSSION Rifle

Ironton, Ohio Chunk Gun/Over the Log

Here we present a William “Bill” M. Large Percussion Underhammer Rifle in Ironton, Ohio. Bill Large (1907-1985) was one of the original rifle barrel makers for muzzleloaders during the 20th Century revival and was a founding member of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association (NMLRA) back in the 1930s. It was he who popularized “chunk guns” and “over the log” shooting matches. He is said to have worked at his trade from the 1920s through the 1980s. To this day his barrels are highly sought after. He is considered a legend in muzzleloading world.

The overall condition is near fine. Excellent action. Bright and sharply rifled bore. Solid stock with a smooth finish. “W.M. Large” is marked atop the barrel.

Due to its being a muzzleloader it will be treated with “antique” status.

Barrel is 32 inches.

Caliber: .45 Percussion
