U.S. REVOLVER CO. .32 S&W HAMMERLESS Top Break DOUBLE ACTION C&R Revolver
Roaring 20s Era Revolver Made by IVER JOHNSON!
Here we present a U.S. Revolver Company Top-Break Safety Hammerless Double Action .32 S&W Revolver, made circa 1920 by Iver Johnson in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Iver Johnson was a U.S. firearms, bicycle, and motorcycle manufacturer from 1871 to 1993. The company shared the same name as its founder, Norwegian-born Iver Johnson (1841–1895). Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871.
The revolver was a small, sturdy, well-built self-defense weapon, ideal for potent conceal and carry in the closing decades of the tumultuous 19th Century continuing into the years leading up to the Roaring Twenties. This double action only revolver was designed after the very popular Smith & Wesson revolvers of the late 19th Century. With 5 shots and modest size, it would have been handy for concealed carry protection in the turbulent Roaring Twenties!
The overall condition is very good. The action fully functions, and the cylinder has some wiggle when locked up. The bore has dimmed but remains clear. Original nickel finish. Both grips are in fine shape with minimal evidence of any type of wear. Markings are sharp.
