SPANISH PATILLA MIQUELET Pistol w Belt Hook & Bust Décor .69 cal Engraved
Early-19th Century Carved Miquelet Conversion Pistol
Here we present an antique Spanish Patilla Miquelet Pistol, made circa the early-19th Century. This pistol was converted from flintlock to percussion circa the 1840s. It has a belt hook on the left side. It is decorated throughout with busts on the pommel, side plate, and trigger guard. It appears to have been well-used. Its relatively small size, combined with the belt hook, as well as the large caliber suggest this was just one of many pistols the user may have carried at once. It has a pirate feel about it.
The overall condition is good. Strong action. The hammer spur is missing making it difficult to cock the hammer. Good bore for its age. A split is present on the right and left side of the wood on the forend. The engravings are a pleasing visual feature. The barrel pulls away from the stock about 1/8 of an inch.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 3-3/8 inches.
