Here we present a C&R Smith & Wesson .38 Military & Police Pre-Model 10 Double Action Revolver manufactured circa 1954-56 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Smith & Wesson Model 10, previously known as the Smith & Wesson .38 Hand Ejector Model of 1899, the Smith & Wesson Military & Police, and the Smith & Wesson Victory Model, is a K-Frame revolver of worldwide popularity. In production since 1899, the Pre-Model and Model 10 are a six-shot, .38 Special, double-action revolver with fixed sights.

Over its long production run it has been available with barrel lengths of 2”, 2.5”, 3”, 4”, 5”, and 6”. Barrels of 2.5 inches are also known to have been made for special contracts. Some 6,000,000 of the type have been produced over the years, making it the most popular handgun of the 20th century.

The overall condition is fine. Excellent action. Original blue finish is preserved. The bore is bright with visible rifling. Some scour marks are present in the bore from a cleaning at some point in time. Both grips are solid with nice checkering and are slightly oversized. Legible markings.
