Scarce CIVIL WAR Era MERWIN & BRAY Single Shot .30 Caliber Rimfire DERINGER
One of Only 4,100 Made During the Civil War
Here we present an antique Merwin & Bray Single Shot Deringer retailed in New York, New York and believed to have been manufactured by the Bacon Mfg. Company of Norwich, Connecticut circa the early to mid-1860s. This little single shot pistol was marketed by the famed New York arms dealers and financiers Merwin & Bray.
The dates of manufacture were 1859-1866, encompassing the years of the American Civil War. This would have been a conceal and carry weapon during the time of extreme turmoil in the United/Confederate States when brother was pitted against brother, never knowing when one would encounter the enemy.
Strong action. The bore is in good shape. The grip screw is loose allowing the grips to have a little movement. Here is a truly scarce piece of American history for the collection.
