Product Description

REMINGTON Model No. 6 ROLLING BLOCK Single Shot .22 Cal. Rimfire C&R RIFLE

Fine 20th Century .22 Rimfire TAKEDOWN RIFLE!

Here we present a C&R Remington Model No. 6 Single Shot Rolling Block Rifle, made circa 1925 in Ilion, New York. During the production run of 1901 through 1933, the were roughly 500,000 of these rolling block takedown rifles manufactured. There were three grades offered over the 33-year run.

The Remington rolling block rifle models No. 1 through No. 5 are all similar but with different size actions to accommodate various calibers. The No. 6 was the economy version of the rolling block action. It appeared later with a longer, thinner, less contoured and slab-sided receiver.

This single shot rifle is chambered in .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle. This would have been the rifle that a boy learned on, plinked and hunted with. Its falling block loading system was strong, simple and reliable. It also taught the shooter how to make the shot count as it was not a repeater.

The overall condition is very fine. Original finish: blue and case colors. The action is excellent. The bore is bright and reflective with strong rifling. The stock is smooth and solid. The tang-mounted peep sight is intact. A great gun!
