Product Description
Rare Mid-CIVIL WAR Antique MARLIN “O.K.” Model .32 RF DERRINGER Serial #125
LOW THREE DIGIT SERIAL NUMBER Vest Type Pocket Pistol
Here we present an exceedingly rare antique John M. Marlin “O.K.” Model Derringer, made circa 1863 during the first year of production in New Haven, Connecticut. It was produced with a brass frame and rosewood grips. Produced from 1863 to 1870, the total production was only 6,000 total in .22 rimfire short, .30 rimfire, and .32 rimfire, making it a scare little single shot pistol.
Marlin made three of these derringer type pistols that were available in these calibers. These included the “1st Model”, made between 1863 and 1867, the “OK Model” made between 1863 and 1870, and the “Never Miss” Model made between 1870 and 1881. There were very few known examples having a square butt grip frame like this example has.
The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bore is shiny with thin rifling and remains in good shape showing some patches of pitting. The grips are solid with less than average handling wear. Numbers match. “O.K.” marked barrel top.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 3-1/8 inches.
