Product Description

RARE & Fine C&R Swiss Bern Model 1929 LUGER Pistol

1 of Only 1,917 Produced for Swiss Citizenry

Here we present a rare Swiss Waffenfabrik Bern Model 1906/1929 Luger Pistol, made in 1947 at the Waffenfabrik arsenal in Bern, Switzerland. The total number of these pistols, made for the commercial market in Switzerland, was only 1,917! This specimen was among the final of its kind as production finished in 1947 with only 316 being made that year.

This specimen was finely manufactured and sports characteristics unique to the Model 1929, such as a straight front grip strap (i.e. no bump at the bottom of the grip), uncheckered toggle knobs, and a stepped frame-to-barrel connection. The serial numbering is unique to this commercial variant in that it is prefixed “P”. The top of the toggle bears the mark of Waffenfabrik Bern. Small “WF+” symbols can be found on the grips and frame.

It comes in a very fine shoulder holster marked on the exterior by maker “Georges Angeloz Sellier, who worked at Route de Rosiére 15, 1782 Belfaux. The back of the holster also has provision to wear on a belt.

The overall condition is very fine. The original blue finish is about 98%. The markings are clear. The serial numbers match. This pistol comes with two unnumbered magazines with brown plastic baseplates, which are correct. The original brown plastic grips panels are very fine. The bore is sharp and bright. The action is excellent. Here is a very collectible and rare Swiss Luger Pistol for your collection!
