RARE Deluxe MARLIN Model 1936 Lever Action .32 SPECIAL W.S. Rifle C&R c1941
Est. 1 OF 50 w WINCHESTER SLING SWIVELS
Here we present a C&R J.M. Marlin Model 1936 Rifle in .32 Winchester Special, made in 1941 in New Haven, Connecticut. The Model 1936 had a production run between 1936 and 1948. Marlin was one of Winchester’s biggest competitors for the lever action market in the late-19th and into the 20th Century. This fantastic lever-action rifle is a direct descendant of the Model 1893. It was chambered in either .30-30 or.32 Special cartridge.
This rifle features a 24-inch barrel in .32 Winchester Special, Winchester sling swivels that are not inletted into the stock, checkering on the pistol grip and forearm, “B” prefix to the serial number, and a grip cap. It also falls into the same serial number range as others we have observed. The receiver, lever, and hammer are case colored while the barrel and magazine tube are blued. “JM” is stamped within the oval on the breech end of the barrel.
The overall condition is fine. Original blue finish with case colored receiver. The action is strong and crisp. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. This example sports a solid stock with sharp checkering containing minimal wear. The included leather sling is in nice shape. A wonderful Marlin for the collection!
