Post-WORLD WAR II Bolt Action BRAZILIAN ITAJUBA Mauser Model 1954 Rifle C&R
Military Pattern Infantry Rifle with THREADED BARRED!
Here we present a C&R Brazilian Mosquetão (Short Rifle) Itajube Model 1954 Military Pattern Rifle made circa the mid to late 1950s at the Itajuba Arms Factory in Itajuba, Brazil. The Mosquetão (Mq) Itajubá Model 1954 was a variant of the Mauser Model 1908 fitted with a threaded muzzle that enabled the use of a flash suppressor or a grenade launcher.
The Mauser Model 1908s were a series of Gewehr 98 pattern bolt-action rifles. First produced by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) and Mauser, they were exported to Uruguay and Brazil. In this latter country, the Brazilian War Material Industry produced upgraded versions until the rifle was replaced by the FN FAL.
The overall condition is fine. Excellent action. Bright bore. This example sports a solid stock with less than average wear and a nice smooth finish. Legible markings. Visible numbers match. The modern leather sling is in very good shape.
