18th Century Flintlock Rifle
Here we present an antique Ottoman Turkish Shishana Miquelet Rifle, made circa the late 18th Century. This rifle is of distinct design. The rear of the stock is quite angular and blocky and rises dramatically to meet the breech of the barrel. The stock is decorated with brass and ivory. The trigger is a ball-type with no trigger guard. The lock is of the miquelet-type. This would have been a very fine rifle for a soldier, perhaps one coming from or having earned prestige. A beautiful piece of art and a fine weapon.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces are dark with age. The stock is in fair shape with some loss and repairs around the fore end. The bore is in great shape with deep groove rifling and a thick layer of dust. The action is strong. Here is a unique and exotic rifle that you might only see in a museum!
