ORNATE ENGRAVED Antique BRASS Balkan FLINTLOCK Pistol Greece Bosnia Albania
Circa 1750-1800 ENGRAVED All Metal Flintlock Pistol
Here we present an antique Balkan All-Metal Flintlock Pistol, made circa 1750 to the early 1800s in Southeastern Europe. This style of flintlock pistol was popular throughout Europe and the Ottoman Empire from the seventeenth into the late-19th Century. These were often all-metal, made from brass, bronze or iron, and occasionally features a peculiar aesthetic with a pointed pommel, but more often having a rounded butt like the one you see here. The pommel was a weapon in itself.
Similar pistols have been dated to this same time frame in Albania and the surrounding area then under Ottoman rule.
The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bore is in good shape for its age. A portion of the muzzle has been widened. The barrel and lock have a wonderful brown patina. Ornately engraved brass frame. Here is a piece of history that will surely be a showstopper in the collection!
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
