Small Early 20th Century Conceal & Carry Revolver
Here we present a C&R Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Double Action Top Break Hammerless Revolver with a non-matching factory box in .22 rimfire caliber, made circa the early 20th Century in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871. The company continued to operate until 1993. This revolver was designed to be small and concealable for self-defense in the years leading up to the Roaring Twenties.
This little 7-shot revolver is chambered in .22 rimfire. The top of the barrel is marked “IVER JOHNSON ARMS & CYCLE WORKS/FITCHBURG, MASS. U.S.A.” The grips are marked with the company initials and an owl’s face on either side.
The overall condition is good. This example has been nicely refinished in nickel. Excellent action. Bright, rifled bore. The grips are in fine shape with minimal handling wear. Sharp markings. The box is in good shape.
