NAPOLEONIC French Arsenal AN XIII .69 CAVALRY Pistol Single Shot 13 Antique
Large FLINTLOCK to PERCUSSION MILITARY Pistol
Here we present an antique French Percussion Conversion Pistolet modèle An XIII, or Pistol Model An 13, made in France between 1806 and 1814. This model was manufactured at all three of the main French Arsenals, Charleville, Maubeuge, and St-Etienne. This pistol was made as a cavalry pistol and was converted from flintlock to percussion when the more reliable percussion system was introduced. This conversion strikes as a bit primitive and seems to us to have been done in the mid-19th Century in the US with a commercial style hammer.
The overall condition is good. Original patina. The action is excellent. The bore is smooth and patinated. The stock has a period crack through the middle that is immobile. Shows lots of use.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 7 inches.
Caliber: .69 Percussion
Overall condition as seen in photos.
