Product Description
LC SMITH Field Grade Double Barrel SIDE x SIDE 10 Gauge Hammer SHOTGUN C&R
Field Grade Sporting/Hunting Shotgun
Here we present a C&R L.C. Smith Field Grade 10 Gauge Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun, manufactured circa 1931. The production for the Field Grade shotgun began in 1912. According to the 1913 catalog: “This gun is especially designed for those requiring a cheap, sound and plainly finished weapon. It is particularly useful for field and marsh where rough usage is required.” Though this is Field Grade, the shooting powers of this gun can be relied upon to be fully equal to those of the higher grades.
The action is strong. Both bores are semi-bright and smooth with various spots of pitting towards the muzzle. The right wrist contains a small crack and does show movement, especially where the stock meets the frame. Finnish on the twist barrels has matured to a brown patina.
