Late-18th Century IRISH Antique FARRELL McDERMOTT OFFICER’S Pistol .66 Caliber

Here we present an engraved antique Irish Made Farrell McDermott Full Stock Officer’s Pistol, made circa the late 1700s to the early 1800s in Dublin, Ireland. Farrell McDermott was a maker of fine weaponry in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. His known addresses were 35 St. Mary’s Abbey as well as 1 & 2 Abbey Street in Dublin.
This is a rather large pistol with an overall length of 15 ¼ inches with a 10 inch octagonal barrel in .66 caliber. It has modest engraving on the trigger guard, lock, and barrel tang. The maker’s name is engraved on the lock as well as on the top flat of the barrel along with “DUBLIN”. There is an old “LV” Irish firearm registration mark around the middle of the barrel as well. Hand-checkered grip on the stock.
Overall condition is very good. Excellent action. The bore is smooth and in good shape. Solid stock with nice checkering on the grip. A handsome Irish military pistol!
