IVER JOHNSON Arms & Cycle Works .32 Top Break Double Action C&R Revolver
Small Early 20th Century Conceal & Carry Revolver
Here we present a C&R Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Double Action Top Break Revolver in .32 S&W caliber, made circa the early 20th Century in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871. The company continued to operate until 1993. This revolver was designed to be small and concealable for self-defense in the years leading up to the Roaring Twenties.
This little 5-shot revolver is chambered in .32 S&W centerfire. The action was made to work in both double and single action. The top of the barrel is marked “IVER JOHNSON ARMS & CYCLE WORKS/FITCHBURG, MASS. U.S.A.” The grips are marked with the company initials and an owl’s face on either side.
The overall condition is good. Original dark brown patina. The action fully functions, but the cylinder does not have the tightest lockup. The bore is in good shape, has dimmed, and retains strong rifling. Both grips are good with a chip missing from the right butt. Markings are worn, but most are legible.
