IVER JOHNSON Arms & Cycle Works .32 Top Break Double Action C&R Revolver
Small Early 20th Century Conceal & Carry Revolver
Here we present a C&R Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Double Action Top Break Revolver in .32 S&W caliber, made circa the early 20th Century in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871. The company continued to operate until 1993. This revolver was designed to be small and concealable for self-defense in the years leading up to the Roaring Twenties.
This little 5-shot revolver is chambered in .32 S&W centerfire and features a trigger safety insert, somewhat like those in striker fired handguns today. The action was made to work in both double and single action. The top of the barrel is marked “IVER JOHNSON ARMS & CYCLE WORKS/FITCHBURG, MASS. U.S.A.” The grips are marked with the company initials and an owl’s face on either side.
The overall condition is good. Original nickel finish. The bore is in good shape. Legible markings. The action does not function. Both grips are in good shape with an average amount of handling wear.
