Small Early 20th Century Conceal & Carry Revolver
Here we present an Iver Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Double Action Top Break Revolver in .32 S&W caliber, made circa the early 20th Century in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Iver Johnson & Martin Bye both cut their teeth with Ethan Allen, then started their own company in 1871. The company continued to operate until 1993. This revolver was designed to be small and concealable for self-defense in the years leading up to the Roaring Twenties.
This revolver is chambered for 5 shots of .32 S&W and features a trigger safety insert, somewhat like those in striker fired handguns today. The action works in both double and single action. The top of the barrel is marked “IVER JOHNSON ARMS & CYCLE WORKS/FITCHBURG, MASS. U.S.A.”
The overall condition is fine. Original nickel finish. Strong action with a little bit of wiggle in the cylinder when locked up. Good bore. Both grips are seated firmly with a chip missing from each butt. Legible markings.
