Iconic Post-WORLD WAR I Era DWM Semi-Auto 7.65mm GERMAN LUGER C&R Pistol
Circa 1920s Commercial Sidearm
Here we present a C&R Blank Chamber Post-World War I Era DWM Semi-Automatic German Luger Pistol, made circa 1920 by DWM in Berlin, Germany. Basing his design off Hugo Borchardt’s seminal C93, Georg Luger successfully brought Borchardt’s work to practical fruition. While finding buyers for the C93 seemed an exercise in futility, the new Luger Pistol found many countries eager to test it and even adopt it. There are many variations in this field of collecting, but relatively few major changes in overall design from beginning to end. The Luger is certainly one of the most iconic firearms in history, made so by its association with Germany during both World Wars. The “Crown over N” proof mark is found throughout the pistol.
The Crown over N is a German pre-World War II proof mark used before April 1, 1940. The “N” indicates that the gun has been proofed with “nitro” or smokeless powder. The top of the toggle is marked “DWM”.
The overall condition is very good. Refinished. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with strong rifling. The grips are solid with sharp checkering. The numbers match.
