HOPKINS & ALLEN Antique POINTER Wild West .22 Caliber Spur Trigger DERINGER
19th Century Conceal and Carry “HIDEOUT” Gun
Here we present an antique Hopkins & Allen “Pointer” Spur Trigger Single Shot Deringer, made circa 1880 in Norwich, Connecticut. Hopkins & Allen established its roots in the mid-to-late 19th Century, producing single shot pistols, revolvers, and other firearms under their own name, as well as producing all of the Merwin & Hulbert revolvers. It is estimated that only 2,500 of these little “Pointer” deringers were made between 1870 and 1890.
Unmarked by Hopkins & Allen, the only markings on the gun are “POINTER” on top of the barrel and the serial number on the bottom of the barrel and frame. It is chambered in .22 caliber rimfire and the barrel pivots sideways for loading. It has a nickel finish on a brass frame.
The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bore is in good shape for its age. Numbers match. Both grips are in good shape. Clear markings.
