Product Description
Harrington & Richardson “THE AMERICAN” Double Action .44 CF Revolver C&R
Turn of the Century Self Defense Conceal and Carry
Here we present a C&R Harrington & Richardson “The American” Double Action Revolver in .44 caliber centerfire, made circa the early to mid-1900s in Worcester, Massachusetts. This H&R “The American Double Action” revolver was a smokeless model manufactured between 1905 and 1941. There were approximately 400,000 of these made over the 36-year production run, with a total of roughly 850,000 including the black powder models between 1883 and 1905. This powerful little .44 caliber centerfire revolver would have been ideal to keep in a pocket or a small holster for self-defense in the turbulent early 20th century and leading into the “Roaring Twenties”. The top of the frame is marked “THE AMERICAN/DOUBLE ACTION”.
The overall condition is fine. Original nickel finish has been preserved. The action is strong, although some left-to-right movement is present in the cylinder when locked up. Good bore overall, has dimmed with acceptable rifling. Both grips are missing chips at the butt.
