HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON “The American” Double Action .38 CF Revolver C&R
Turn of the Century Self Defense Conceal and Carry
Here we present a C&R Harrington & Richardson “The American” Double Action Revolver in .38 Centerfire, made circa 1910 in Worcester, Massachusetts. This H&R “The American Double Action” revolver was a smokeless model manufactured between 1905 and 1941. There were approximately 400,000 of these made over the 36-year production run, with a total of roughly 850,000 including the black powder models between 1883 and 1905. This little .38 caliber centerfire revolver would have been ideal to keep in a pocket or a small holster for self-defense in the turbulent early 20th century and leading into the “Roaring Twenties”. The top of the frame is marked “THE AMERICAN/DOUBLE ACTION”.
The overall condition is fine. Original nickel and blue finish. Mostly bright bore with strong rifling and some light spots of pitting. Robust action. Both grips are good, but the right heel is missing a chip. Legible markings. “HLS NY” is hand inscribed on the butt.
