Here we present an antique Thomas Archer Brass “Cannon Barrel” Flintlock Boxlock Pistol, made circa late 1700s to early 1800s in turn of the century in Birmingham, England. Thomas Archer Sr. and Jr. operated out of Birmingham in the late 1700s to the early 1800s. This boxlock pistol has a cannon style turn off barrel with “Crown/V” and “Crown/P” proof marks on the bottom of the action at the breech. It features floral and scroll engraving patterns with a “T. ARCHER” in a banner on the left side. The walnut is beautifully enhanced with a silver wire inlay.
The overall condition is fine. Nice patina on the brass. The action is excellent. The bore is smooth and patinated. The grip is solid with excellent silver wire inlay. Clear markings throughout. 11 ½” overall length—a larger boxlock pistol than usual! A beautiful piece!
