Gorgeous CUSTOM Hunter Springfield Model 1903 .30-06 SPRG Monte Carlo C&R
With a LEUPOLD Vari-X II 3-9 Scope
Here we present a Springfield Model 1903 Bolt Action Turned Custom Hunting Rifle, made circa 1929. This rifle had a production run from 1903 through 1949 with over 3,000,000 produced. The M1903 Springfield, formally the United States Rifle, is an American five-round magazine fed, bolt-action service repeating rifle, used primarily during the first half of the 20th century. It was officially adopted as a United States military bolt-action rifle on June 19, 1903, and saw service in World War I.
These rifles were based on the Mauser design, and like that coveted action many were converted into beautiful hunting weapons upon being sold as surplus. This one features a stunning, highly figured walnut stock in the Monte Carlo fashion. The .30-06 cartridge for which it remains chambered will take most large game anywhere. It is topped with a Leupold Vari-x II 3-9 power scope in solid Weaver rings. An adjustable leather sling rounds this one out.
The overall condition is excellent. The stock has beautiful grain patterns with a smooth and reflective finish. The action is strong and contains a bright bore! The scope maintains a clear sight picture. Rubber butt pad is in great shape. This is a one-of-a-kind hunting rifle with US martial history to boot. It would be the envy of the deer camp.
