ENGRAVED 19th Century TARGET/DUELING Pistol
Here we present an antique Clark of London Half Stock Percussion Dueling/Target Pistol, made circa the 1830s. Thought there isn’t a lot of information available, it’s known that Clark worked from 1775 until 1840 from his shop in Holborn, London. Clarke had many British government contracts to supply military muskets but also built bespoke guns, which is a gun created to be a perfect fit customized to just you, making business very profitable for more his prominent customers. This pistol is an example of one built for one of his “better customers”.
The overall condition is very good. Gold inlay inscription and breech band a top the barrel. Strong action. Nice bore. “Clark” is engraved on the lock. Solid stock with an average amount of wear. A hand carved “P” can be seen on the butt. Here is a truly beautiful pistol!
