FINE Circa 1877 SMITH & WESSON .38 Single Action Revolver Antique
Improved Version of the S&W “Baby Russian”
Here we present an antique Smith & Wesson .38 Single Action Second Model Revolver, manufactured circa 1877 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Smith & Wesson manufactured approximately 108,225 of these revolvers during its 14-year production run. With the exception of an improved and shortened extractor assembly this revolver is virtually the same as 1st Model “Baby Russian”.
This revolver features 5 shots of .38 S&W. It is a relatively small single action revolver that was made the same year Colt came out with their Model 1877 Lightning, which was a double action in .38 Colt.
The overall condition is fine. Bright, original nickel finish and case colors. Excellent action. Bright bore, sharp rifling. Both of the S&W trademarked grips are very good. Numbers match. A very nicely preserved S&W revolver from the 1880s!
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 3-1/4 inches.
Caliber: .38 S&W
Overall condition as seen in photos.
