Fine 1903 COLT Double Action .32 NEW POLICE 6-Shot REVOLVER C&R
Selected by NYC Police Commissioner TEDDY ROOSEVELT!
Here we present a C&R Colt New Police Revolver, made in 1903 by the Colt Manufacturing Company with a production run from 1896 through 1907 in Hartford, Connecticut. The Colt New Police is a double-action, six-shot revolver that can be fired in single or double action. The gun was chambered in the .32 New Police, which is dimensionally identical to a flat-nose version of the .32 S&W Long.
Colt made 49,000 of these New Police models. The New Police was famous as the first standardized double action revolver the New York City Police bought, by order of then Police Commissioner Teddy Roosevelt. The New Police Revolver was replaced in the Colt catalog in 1907 by the improved Colt Police Positive.
