EVANSVILLE, INDIANA LONG RIFLE by THEODORE Theo. WILLERDING .40 Cal Antique
Made Rifle w “G. GOULCHER” Lock
Here we present an antique Willerding Long Rifle, made circa the 1860s in Evansville, Indiana. Theodore Willerding (1839-1889) was a German immigrant gunsmith circa the 1860s-70s in Evansville.
This rifle has a heavy .40 caliber octagonal barrel with a half-stock. Double set triggers. Pewter cap.
The overall condition is very good. Original finish. The action needs some adjustment, probably in the set triggers, to get the hammer to hold full-cock. The bore is in very good condition with strong rifling. There is a small crack to the barrel tang around the forward screw hole. The stock is solid.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
Barrel is 36-1/4 inches.
Caliber: .40 Percussion
Overall condition as seen in photos.
