European GROTESQUE MASK Antique FLINTLOCK Pistol
Ornate 18th Century Belt Pistol
Here we present an antique Flintlock Belt Pistol, manufactured in the mid-18th Century. This pistol was made in the 1700s for carry in a belt or on pommel holsters on a horse. The pistol features a very long barrel, as is common for troops fighting on horses, and the butt-cap is solid and heavy as one would expect for a single shot weapon of the time period. When one did not have time to reload, one reversed the grip and swung for skull. The pommel is decorated with a grotesque face. The stock is very nicely carved with scroll designs. The origin is Western Europe.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces have been polished bright. The stock is in very good condition. The bore is smooth, dusty and in great condition. The action on this pistol is strong.
